Description: The television series is called Tātai Hono for Māori Television. It is focused on the journey to find our turangawaewae, to understand where we came from, who we are, and where we belong.
For each of us, knowing our heritage is central to identity. For those that have lost that connection - discovering or rediscovering can provide a pathway to the restoration of dignity, security and humanity.
The key element of this series is Māori rediscovering their Whakapapa and their marae.
Toitu te whenua ngaro ai te tangata.
This series will follow your journey as you rediscover your Māori heritage. With the help and support of a Kaumātua led research team, we will share the journey back to your marae and your iwi, hapu and whanau.
You will share your stories of how you have longed to find the "missing parts" of your life and inspire other Māori.

Broadcast & Film New Zealand is seeking applications for a camera operator/editor internship. The intern will receive $300.00 per week for 6 months after which fulltime employment may be offered. The applicant should have an understanding of photography. We will be looking at composition, lighting and most importantly an ability to tell a story within a picture. Please include 6 digital pictures in your application. Your application will not be considered without 6 pictures.
The applicant should have ‘significant life experience’ and demonstrate an ability to work as a team member. Television is often produced in weekends – do not apply if this is a problem.
Broadcast & Film is based in Auckland but we work throughout New Zealand. You need a full drivers license, a very good understanding of computers and have a sense of adventure. Successful camera operators tend to be physically and mentally confident and able to understand and visually articulate the feelings of other people.
