Robin Murphy has been employed in the NZ Film Industry as a freelancer for 28 years. In this time she has worked on 19 feature films, 11 short films and over twenty television programmes in addition to numerous TVC’s.
Robin has gained experience in many departments from costume, props and production to locations and assistant directing. She has crewed on an array of local and international productions, ranging from costume work on Goodbye Pork Pie in 1979 to being Supervising Location Manager on The Lord of the Rings trilogy to location managing two award winning television programmes; Outrageous Fortune and Amazing Extraordinary Friends. She’s worked on numerous well known Kiwi projects including feature films King Kong and Once Were Warriors and television series, The Strip, Xena, Hercules, Letter to Blanchy and Nga Puna II.
In 2007 Robin produced short film Run which was selected to compete at Cannes in the same year. Robin’s goal is to produce quality feature films having so far successfully produced 4 short films.
