Kathryn Rawlings

Kathryn has been an agent since 1992 and is managing director of Kathryn Rawlings Actors’ Agency, one of the premier actors’ agencies in the country. She started off as an actress and graduated from the New Zealand Drama School in 1972. She was a leading actress on stage, screen, radio and commercials for many years. In the eighties, she diversified and owned and ran various businesses with her husband, the actor Kevin J. Wilson, including an antiques business, a private hotel and large farm merchandising store. They also owned and ran an equine agistment farm and bred sport horses. Along the way she became a keen equestrienne and riding instructor. She studied for a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in Accountancy extramurally with Massey University and though never completely finished the degree did work as a partly qualified accountant with the intention of becoming a chartered accountant. Returning to Auckland after many years away, Kathryn became an actors’ agent instead. Over the years she has been on various boards, executives and committees including Equity, NZ Film and TV Awards and WIFT. Also she has continued to do the odd bit of acting on request and has executive produced shortfilms. She has one daughter, Helena who works in the office with her and three grand children.
