From French classic The City of Lost Children to children’s films such as Garfield and Stuart Little 2, via Hollywood blockbusters like Charlie’s Angels and X-Men2, international specialist Arnon Manor has worked his visual effects magic to the delight of audiences around the world.
Join us in June for a unique opportunity to hear Arnon’s introduction to visual effects. He’ll be discussing some basic methodology and terminology, and the theory behind the process of visual effects for the motion picture industry, with examples of his own work. This powerful film opened the Auckland and Wellington film festivals.
Starring Academy Award winner Angelina Jolie as Mariane Pearl, and Dan Futterman, Oscar-nominated for his Capote screenplay, as Daniel Pearl, and directed by Michael Winterbottom.
On January 23, 2002, Mariane Pearl’s world changed forever. Her husband Daniel, the South Asia Bureau chief for the Wall Street Journal, was researching a story on shoe bomber Richard Reid. The story drew them to Karachi where a go-between had promised access to an elusive source. As Danny left for the meeting, he told Mariane he might be late for dinner. He never returned.
